Vermont Parks Forever (VPF), the nonprofit foundation for Vermont State Parks, would like to welcome a part-time Program and Development Specialist to join our team of 3 by providing critical administrative support for operations and fundraising, and specific program management for the Park Access Fund. This 20-25 hours/week position reports to the Executive Director and also works closely with the Deputy Director.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Vermont State Parks (a must!), be very organized,
dependable, confident using and learning new technology, and have strong communication skills. A good sense of humor and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other staff members is required. Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising processes, donor database management, and program administration is highly preferred.
This primarily work-from-home position requires weekly travel to Montpelier for in-person work.
Position Responsibilities
• Process donations, prepare acknowledgement letters and general correspondence
• Maintain donor files with confidentiality and create reports in database (Little Green Light)
• Support fundraising activities like production and mailing of digital and direct mail
fundraising appeals, grant research and applications
• Manage Park Access Fund program applications, park pass grants, and grant reporting
• Monthly light bookkeeping duties in concert with ED and contracted accountant
• Assist with board meeting logistics, set up and notetaking
• Event planning and set up, design of organizational materials in Canva, day-to-day
operational activities, and other duties as assigned in a busy nonprofit. It’s a team sport!
• Infrequent evening and weekend work may be required as well as in-state travel beyond
Montpelier for meetings or events
Qualifications
• A love for Vermont State Parks and passion for helping everyone enjoy them
• One or more years of experience with nonprofit fundraising process/strategies and donor
databases
• Confident with technology not limited to Microsoft Office, Monday.com, Little Green Light,
Wix, and Canva
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
• Able to effectively work remotely, both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to anticipate needs, organize and prioritize work, and suggest process improvement
all with keen attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly range for this position is $21-23 per hour commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Combined time off, generous paid holidays, flexible schedule, professional development, wellness stipend and 401K benefits are offered.
