100 Years of Vermont State Parks

Vermont State Parks 100th Anniversary

We're celebrating 100 years of Vermont State Parks. Share your story and tell us your favorite Vermont State Park memory to help us commemorate what makes the parks so special.

Working to protect and enhance Vermont State Parks.

To continue Vermont’s tradition of support for conservation, recreation, public health, and natural beauty, Vermont Parks Forever collaborates with Vermonters, park visitors, and our partners to improve the parks for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

Thanks to your generosity, we can continue this important work together, fostering lifelong connections to nature for Vermonters and visitors alike.

As the non-profit foundation for Vermont’s 55 state parks, VPF focuses on nature education, access to parks, and equity in the outdoors.

Serving with purpose.

Vermont Parks Forever is engaging its resources to ensure that parks and natural spaces are inviting and accessible to everyone.

VPF is committed to enhancing and protecting Vermont’s state parks by inspiring stewardship of natural places, providing educational experiences, and improving access for those who would otherwise be unable to experience all the benefits the state parks have to offer.

Parks Access Program

Vermont’s state parks are for everyone; together, we can support a more equitable outdoor experience.

Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

We believe that parks and natural areas are underutilized by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities in Vermont due to systemic biases. VPF prioritizes creating programs that remove barriers and provide access for all.

Natural Connections

VPF has partnered with Vermont State Parks and ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, to create dynamic, new educational experiences for state park visitors through this multi-year, multi-park initiative.

Mt. Philo Forever Fund

Each summer, VPF funds the William Cameron Hagedorn Mt. Philo Forever Fund internship to give students the opportunity to practice environmental stewardship, develop teamwork and collaboration skills, and experience working with the public.
