My husband and I grew up in Massachusetts, and have lived most of our lives here.

When our neurodiverse daughter turned 8, we moved to a northwestern semi-rural suburb of Boston. We met another family with a neurodiverse son; they (and we) became friends and began a yearly ritual of cabin/tent camping at Button Bay State Park in Vermont. (My husband prefers to tent.)

We've been able to bring our dogs, the cabins are RIGHT on the bluff of Lake Champlain, and enjoy the peace and quiet of a very family-friendly and clean campground. We love the nearby town of Vergennes, and always include Burlington in our travels when we stay. Hiking, swimming (either in the pool in the campground or another state park nearby), walking to the "point,"cooking and eating outside, and...the stars at night!!! (We even have our favorite consignment store in Vergennes). Lots of interesting museums in the area as well.

Thank you Vermont State Parks!!
