A Camping Goal

As Vermonters, we love to camp in our state parks! We have a goal of camping in each one of the 29 parks that allow travel trailers. We have visited 21 of them so far, so we are close to achieving our goal. And the COVID pandemic helped us to do so.

In 2020, we had planned to take a month-long trip with our camper to see the Civil War sites down south; however, with the risk of COVID so high, we didn’t want to leave our state. Instead, we picked out 5 different Vermont State Parks and visited them. The park employees did an excellent job reducing the risk of COVID infection, and because they shut down many of the sites, the campgrounds were very safe, quiet, and peaceful. We had a fantastic time, and, in the end, we found that we didn’t mind missing our Civil War trip at all!
