Connecting the next generation with nature.

The Branbury Internship program offers the annual opportunity for a young person to serve in the parks.

Youth Internship at Branbury State Park

This internship introduces Vermont high schoolers to the ins and outs of working at Vermont State Parks. Beyond developing valuable workplace skills, they can deepen their understanding of these natural spaces by exploring the parks' unique history, ecology, and cultural significance and sharing that enthusiasm with visitors.

"55 years ago I had a summer job at Emerald Lake that evolved into a 30 year career with Vermont State Parks. This internship is meant to provide the same opportunity to a local student - a great summer job and experience working at Branbury."

Meet our 2026 Intern
Fiona Taylor

Fiona is a junior at Otter Valley Union High School. She loves theater, music, the arts, and kayaking. As an intern, she likes being outside all day and collaborating with the park's naturalist. She learned that working in the parks "doesn't have to be a one-time thing. You can stay in this industry."
