Improving accessibility in Vermont's state parks

In 2024 Vermont Parks Forever added four beach access wheelchairs to state parks across Vermont.

When a beach access chair is available at a Vermont state park, the benefits are clear: more people are able to experience the mental and physical health improvements gained by spending time in nature. Rather than watch from the sidelines, beach access chair users are able to join their friends and families as they enjoy time in the water and play in the sand. Creating opportunities for everyone to recreate together improves inclusivity and insures that Vermont's state parks are for everyone.
