Camping at Branbury State Park Since 1980

Our family has been camping at Branbury State Park since 1980. We met another family there around 1990 (the Polands) and we have been camping with them every fourth of July since. We raised two daughters camping at Branbury and so did the Polands. We have had site 9 for years and they take site 5. Now our daughters are grown with children of their own.

This year our daughter, Julie, joined us for the week from Colorado and our daughter Amy and her husband and kids joined us from Virginia. Even though we are far apart, Branbury has been such an important part of our lives it always feels like coming home when we arrive. We remember Bruce Brown who was a manager at one point. He planted flower gardens and showed movies in the nature center. Then there was Bob and Yvonne who looked forward to our arrival every year. We won't forget the VYCC and their purple shirts who ran the park for several summers. Our girls loved their campfires. We are in our 70’s now but still look forward to our annual trip to Branbury. Thanks for the memories.
